From the
Moon-Venus conjunction
, to the
Mars-Mercury Conjunction
earlier this week, and of course the most awaited
Perseid Meteor Shower
, this August has truly been full of interesting astronomical events!
If you happen to miss these events however, don’t fret! This coming Friday, August 20, 2021, is a good time to schedule your night sky observations!
On this night, Jupiter will be in opposition. This means that it will be opposite from the Sun. Once the Sun sets in the West, Jupiter will be rising in the East. Furthermore, this means that it will be the best time to observe the Gas Giant!
And in the very unlikely event that you will get bored with Jupiter, the Moon and Saturn will also be visible on this night!
Saturn, Jupiter, and the Moon are all visible to the naked eye. This means that no other equipment is required to take part and observe these events. Download Stellarium Mobile on your devices to easily locate the planets and better orient yourself.
If you can get your hands on a pair of binoculars or a telescope, the night sky experience will be much more fun and enjoyable!
Don’t forget to share with us your night sky experience!
